The code of ethics establishes the ethical standards and principles to which Revista de Ciencias de la Salud SALMUS is committed in its editorial and publishing process of scientific articles. It clearly defines the responsibilities of the Editorial Committee, the privacy and confidentiality of authors, reviewers, and editors, the integrity and originality of articles, the declaration of conflicts of interest, the peer review process, and open access to published articles. Additionally, the journal emphasizes its commitment to international standards of editorial ethics and sets measures to prevent and correct inappropriate conduct.

1. Editorial Responsibility

  • Editorial responsibility lies with the Editorial Committee, which ensures the scientific quality of the articles published in the journal.
  • The journal commits to following international standards of editorial ethics and meeting the requirements of citation indexes and relevant databases.

2. Confidentiality and Privacy

  • The journal guarantees the privacy and confidentiality of authors, reviewers, and editors.
  • Contact information and personal data of authors, reviewers, and editors will not be shared with third parties without their explicit consent.

3. Integrity and Originality

  • The journal is committed to publishing original and unpublished articles that result from research and the systematization of professional practice.
  • The journal does not accept plagiarism, fraud, or data falsification and reserves the right to take measures to prevent and correct such behaviors.

4. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any potential conflict of interest that may influence the content of the article or the editorial process.
  • The journal will take measures to ensure that potential conflicts of interest are handled fairly and transparently.

5. Peer Review Process

  • The journal follows a peer review process to ensure the scientific quality of the published articles.
  • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, knowledge in the field, and commitment to editorial ethics.
  • The journal guarantees that the peer review process is fair, impartial, and confidential.

6. Disclosure and Open Access

  • The journal is committed to disseminating scientific knowledge through open access to its articles.
  • Authors retain the copyright of their articles, and the journal ensures proper attribution and citation of the same.

7. Scientific research involving human participation

  • Authors are required to comply with the provisions of the National Commission of Bioethics in Health (CNBS), in particular the regulations on clinical trials, informed consent, the use of genetic material, and international regulations: the Declaration of Helsinki, the CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines, the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, etc.

8. Requirements and regulations for studies involving human subjects

  • In the case of publication proposals derived from studies involving human subjects, authors must submit:

    • Certification from a duly authorized Human Research Ethics Committee (CEISH): only for Observational/Original Studies (Cohort, Case-Control, Cross-Sectional, Ecological, Case Series, Case Reports, and Multicenter Studies), Experimental Studies (Clinical Trials).
    • Approval letter from the National Agency for Regulation, Control and Health Surveillance (ARCSA): only for clinical trials.
    • Informed consent: only for case reports.

The Revista de Ciencias de la Salud SALMUS adheres to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Academic Publishing and the code of conduct standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The Revista de Ciencias de la Salud SALMUS, with the aim of promoting diversity and preventing potential conflicts of interest, establishes as a rule that no group of authors from the same institution can account for more than two-thirds of the authorship in published manuscripts.
